Because people do the funniest things when they think no one's watching...

Carnivals, 30th’s, Weddings & Christmas Parties…

Yes we do it all at Photo Booth Fun, and the last couple of months in Hawkes Bay has seen some classics. From Toffee Apples & Candyfloss at the NCF Spring Carnival to some fun and shenanigans at Zak’s 30th. From an African themed anniversary party to a pranking bride’s mum.

We also had a blast at the Radio Network’s Hawkes Bay Special Children’s Christmas Party – I know Christmas is nearly here! If you’re planning a Christmas event get a Photo Booth in there and some extra Fun! Fun! FUN!

And I just had to put in some shots from Sunday’s “Love is Sweet” wedding at the beautiful Mission Estate Winery. What a great wedding – great people, great dresses, and some really great ink! Thanks for inviting us to be a part of your special day guys.

So whatever your special day is, it’s always more Fun with a Photo Booth from the team at PBF so give us a call and set it up… you know you want to…

We deliver – New Zealand wide!

Wedding season is in full swing, and the Waikato must be popular, as this month the Waikato and Bay of Plenty PBF team had the honour of attending our Auckland and Tauranga wedding expo prize winner’s receptions.

Firstly a great night with Chris & Gemma, our Tauranga wedding expo winners, at their Blonde Restaurant reception in Whitianga.

And the next day we had a fun, boisterous (and did I mention FUN) bunch of Aucklanders and South Africans for Royden and Louise’s pre wedding reception drinks at the amazing Ag Heritage Village at Mystery Creek.

Remember that the Waikato and Bay of Plenty team are part of a national group of fun and zany photo booth professionals. Our booth will be shipped to Queenstown for a weekend of bookings later this month, and next month we’ll be on the road for an event in Hawera.  So no matter where you are in New Zealand, as long as there is power supply and trolley access, if you want to book a booth for your event we can be there!

What an exciting few weeks it has been in Auckland!

Word has spread in the corporate sector that a booth from Photo Booth Fun is a great addition to any function so we’ve been busy helping out some awesome companies!  We joined Lion Nathan at their awards night, Zambesi when they launched their new range of eyewear, Typo when they opened their new store in Queen Street and the NZ Recreation Association who organise the annual Just Add Water event.  We also joined the Bunnings Warehouse team as they celebrated the Glenfield stores’ first birthday and we had a wicked time with the teens at the Auckland Library on Saturday for their Fuse Party!

Dilworth School for Boys and Hebron Christian College enjoyed a photo booth at their school ball and we attended functions at two of Auckland’s coolest venues – The Floating Pavilion played host to Catherine & San’s wedding and Alice had an awesome 30th party at the Old Elephant House at Auckland Zoo!!

If you are thinking about hiring us for your upcoming wedding then come and visit our stand at The Grand Wedding Show, Level 4 + 5, Sky City Convention Centre from 9am to 4pm on Sunday 16 September.  As always we’ll be taking heaps of photos and giving away an awesome prize!

Now is also the time to be thinking about booking your Christmas Party booth to avoid disappointment as December is filling up fast!  Email your Christmas Party details to Suze at info@photoboothfun.co.nz, we’d love to join you in celebrating!!

Once again we were invited to join the London Hard House Reunion at Studio on K Road – these guys know how to party!!

FUNdraising in the Waikato and BOP

The Waikato and The Bay Of Plenty have been full on with more expo’s and training up new staff for a super busy wedding season…

Firstly our new kid on the block Mustafa helped the Bay of Plenty Polytech create a huge buzz at the Bay of Plenty Careers Expo (TECT Arena, Baypark) and then our other newbie, Joe in Hamilton, showed the kids how it’s done with Waikato Institute of Technology Open Day at the Atrium, Wintec.  Throw in some mid-winter weddings and corporate events and wowwee!

Sunday saw the Photo Booth Fun team supporting the Bride’s Tea Party at Sarnia Park Botique Lodge – a fantastic afternoon showing off our booth to more Waikato brides while fundraising for Endometriosis New Zealand. Really stoked that our $590 donated photo booth hire raised $220 in the silent auction. And if you’re in Auckland and think you’ve missed out, make sure you and your girlfriends reserve the night of Wednesday, 3rd October, for an Evening of Glitz & Glamour and another fantastic fundraiser at Orakei Bay.

Great laughs in Christchurch

Wow, I’ve gotta agree with the Wellington team when they say that time’s flown recently – Where does it go in such a hurry?!

We’ve been up to all sorts this past while; I’m so glad that winter isn’t deterring people from getting out and having fun! For instance, have a look at what The Press’s ever entertaining columnist Beck Eleven has to say about her photo booth experience – It’s always great to see the hilarity that comes from a night with one of our booths. And the great thing about our included USB is that it doesn’t end on the night, as she explains so well!

Last month saw us at the Mid Canterbury Wedding Expo in Ashburton. The organisers did such a good job getting everything in order so we had a superb day meeting people from the area and getting lots of people inside the photobooth to get snapped.

We may not have the olympics here (how proud are we of team NZ’s achievements in London btw?) but last weekend we did have the NZCAF Aerobics Regionals and we have the booth pics to prove it.  So much talent around that day!

Well school ball season is still in full swing, there have been so many laughs and great memories so far and we have a few more before the month is out  - But don’t despair if you haven’t booked one for your ball – There’s still time! (Though I still don’t know where it goes..).

Til next time :)

Busy Busy Wellington

Phwor, I can’t believe how long it’s been since we had an update from the Wellington team. I know we’ve been busy but the time has just flown by! Here’s a few highlights of the past few months:

Life Flight Open Day

We work with quite a few charity organisations (Child Cancer, Lifeline, Ronald McDonald House and Sustainable Coastlines to name a few) and the open day at the Wellington Life Flight hangar was just great fun. They raised a heap of money for their new plane, which was decorated by the talented team at Weta Workshop!

How cool does that backdrop look? We can organise these for your event as well.

Red Bull Sounds Like Sunday

Red Bull know how to party and they also know how to thank the people that sell their product to the masses, the guys and girls on the front line in the bars and clubs.

Sounds like Sunday is a work free night off for all the hospo workers in Wellington and we were there to help with the fun.

As always, the booth went off and the provided props were certainly a hit. Red and blue were the colours of the night and our intrepid attendant John was a bit BLACK and blue by the end. Too much fun.

Show Me Wellington – Corporate Events Expo

Corporate events are a huge amount of our business, we just love meeting new organisations to work with and the Show Me Wellington expo was a great place to do it.

Events co-ordinators and social club members were in and out of our Blue Booth all day, throwing on some props and making the most of it. We shmoozed and networked up a storm, even taking a couple of bookings on the spot!

The expo attracted people from all over the country which was great for us as we’re NATIONWIDE!

Custom Photo Strip Designs

Now one of our most requested options is the custom strip design and we really love doing them, it lets us stretch our creative legs a little. Here’s some recent examples we’ve done:

Let us know when you book if you’d like a custom strip design.

Cheers!

Meet the Auckland Team!

Here in Auckland we are lucky to have a wonderful team of booth attendants, and thought we might take some time to introduce them to you!

Sara and Jacqui are our stay-at-home mums that enjoy having an excuse to get out of the house and socialise!  Jacqui used to manage a travel agency, before becoming a mum/booth attendant and Sara is one of the luckiest people we know – she wins every competition she enters!  We are just dreading the day she wins Lotto and doesn’t need to work anymore!!

Natalie is our most experienced booth attendant, attending more than 150 events so far!  Natalie is currently studying Nursing so she can double as the medic at your event, as well as your booth attendant!

We love students and have a few on our team – Hendrik studies Logistics, Joshua studies Architecture, Anna studies Illustration and Chloe studies Travel and Tourism – so between them they can work out the best way to get your booth from A to B, how to best utilise the booth in your space, and draw a pretty picture of it afterwards!

We are always looking for new operators to join our ever-expanding team so if you have reliable transportation and have a great personality, send your CV to auckland@photoboothfun.co.nz

Here are some photos of Team Auckland trying out some of our new props!

Winter’s wedding season?!

Winter must be wedding season in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty – we’ve had back to back wedding events with the Tauranga Wedding Show in May, the Waikato Wedding Expo in June and a really cool wedding event coming up in August.

A quick reminder that our Waikato Wedding Expo special offers expire on the 31st July - remember it’s only a $100 deposit to book your date!

Now, from 2pm to 4:30pm Sunday the 12th August Photo Booth Fun are supporting the Brides Tea Party at Sarnia Park Botique Lodge,  Cambridge.  Come along and enjoy bubbles and canapes, fashion parades, prize draws, mystery prizes, wedding tips, styling and inspiration.  This event was heaps of fun last year and tickets are limited.  Grab your girlfriends and get some tickets for a fun girl’s day out!  100% of your ticket price is donated to Endometriosis New Zealand.

For more updates and information visit the charity facebook page or contact the Astra Bridal Hamilton store on 07-8395449.

It’s mid-winter…Time to party!

Whether it’s for the office or to celebrate with your friends, a perfect reward for getting through this cold winter is a Mid-Winter Christmas Party. And if you’re looking for a unique idea to make it memorable, look no further; Our photo booths not only provide great entertainment but everyone gets a souvenir to take home and since all of our packages include a digital copy of all the carry on, you’ll get to relive the fun over and over.

Of course all of this applies to the real Christmas parties later in the year too (we all know it’ll be on us before we know it!) The photo booth is the perfect addition to get people in the Christmas spirit and we have some ideas to make the most of Photo Booth Fun at your party:

  • Include props to add that extra bit of fun – If you have a special theme, let us know and we’ll see if we can find the right additions.
  • Create a backdrop that suits – Balloons, streamers and decorations can really add to the festive feeling.
  • If it’s for the office, having your logo inserted on the photo strip is a great way for everyone to remember your party for even longer.
  • Using the best Photo Booth Fun pictures for your Christmas card is an excellent way to stand out from the crowd.
  • Create funny stories: Make up situations and circumstances and have people act them out over the four shots – You can try acting out songs or stories and include a game where guests have to guess from the photo strips. And if you choose to include our online gallery, it can be funny for guests to try to match the photo strips to the scenarios later on!!
  • And of course, festive costumes and decorations always help people get in the spirit!

On another note – We here in Christchurch are looking forward to the Mid Canterbury Wedding Expo next weekend – Come along, support a good cause and get your photo taken in the booth while you’re at it!

Michaela – Christchurch Manager

Got your booth booked… now get prop-ping!

If you’ve booked your Photo Booth Fun time and you’re getting all set for the big event, why not add some extra Photo Booth Fun by adding some props to use in the booth? You can add a props box to your booking and we’ll bring it along with us or you can make yourself the ultimate props box by following these fun ideas.

Here are some suggestions…

  • Big geeky glasses
  • Large antique picture frame (so guests can frame themselves)
  • Multi coloured beads or Hawaiian Leis
  • Hats, wigs and pretty much any gear you can think of – the brighter the better!
  • How about a fake moustache on a stick?!
  • A chalk board for messages – you can even get them shaped like a speech bubble!
  • Inflatable guitar and microphone – for that matter just about anything inflatable so long as it doesn’t take up the whole booth!
  • Viking helmet and battle axe
  • Mickey Mouse ears and animal noses and ears
  • Pirate gear – eye patches arrrr…

There’s just about no end to the fun you can have with some props in a photobooth! Just let your imagination (and maybe the wine) flow and lets see what develops…
