Wellington Photobooth

We love Photo Booth Christmases in Wellington! Because the booth is the perfect place for workmates to come together and let off steam without having to hit the dance floor. And the best thing of all it leaves people with a memory from the night. Once upon a time all the memories you got from the office Christmas Party were when someone sat on the photocopier and made 20 A4 copies of their backside. But throw in a Christmas props box and a photo booth and now you can have all sorts of memories that last beyond the night.

Its always great fun to see the pictures following a Christmas Party where all sorts of people, regardless of where they sit on the corporate ladder or what they do for the rest of the year act a little silly and have fun. A photo booth also allows those people who don’t drink or can’t drink on the night to relax and do something a little wild. The curtain truly does give people license to let their hair down and like we always say, “People do the funniest things when they think no-one is watching”.

So check and see if there are still spots left Wellington. And if we can’t fit you in for 2015 then book now for 2016. A year isn’t too long for an advance booking.

Have a Merry Christmas from the Wellington team!

Always work with children and animals!

Someone is a bit more convinced than the other here

There is the old showbiz adage that states you should never work with children or animals. At Photobooth Fun we say to heck with that! Some of the most awesome moments in a photobooth can be provided by our little friends (of either 2 or 4 legs).

Dog in a PhotoboothIn October both children and animals came together in fantastic fashion when the Wellington team helped the Pet Centre out for two days for the grand opening of their Lyall Bay store. We had families, kids, bunnies, puppies, older dogs and even an 85kg St. Bernard in the booth! Some folks even came back with more family, friends and pets the second day!

Its the great thing about a photobooth for a function – everyone loves them. And more importantly we can even make sure that all your guests, furry or otherwise, can have a turn. If you’ve got a lot of kids or pets at your function let us know because we can give you some advice about the best set up to make sure that everyone has a chance to make great memories in the booth.

It is that time of year!

If your house is like my house then you are probably well into the Christmas countdown! While I am still trying to figure out where exactly the last 10 months have gone I find myself saying “be nice to your sister – you know Santa’s elves are heading out soon to keep watch” all too often, and answering all toy requests with “put it in your letter to Santa and see what happens”. Christmas stores seem to be popping up in places I didn’t even know existed and that catchy Christmas music has started in the background of radio adverts… what does all this mean? It is a fairly good indication that one of my favourite times of the year is upon us… end of year work function time!!

That amazing time of year when you get to let your hair down knowing that a Christmas break is so close you can almost touch it…and what are the vital ingredients for a successful work function? Good food, Good drink, good entertainment AND a good photo booth! That is where Photo Booth Fun come in and we can’t wait!

So be like these 2 at your work function…

Showing Wellington

We get all sorts of things in the booth in Wellington and now we can add actual muppets to the list!

We were at the 2015 Show Me Wellington Conference Expo early last month where we had a great time showing the booth off to hundreds of potential corporate hirers. It was great to get a whole different bunch of people through the booth and get them to have a play with our new social media uploader. With this new feature your guests can now use a tablet, linked wirelessly to the booth, to select and upload their pictures to Facebook and Twitter – straight away from whatever function they might be at.

We also had a whole heap of fantastic comments from people who had never experienced a Photobooth Fun booth before. They really liked:

  • the quality of the prints
  • our custom photo strip
  • the fact that booth guests can see the photo on the booth screen just after its been taken
  • how compact and classy our booth looked.

So we are hoping that this little taste has whetted their appetites and we might see a few familiar faces in the booth come Christmas Party time.

Flexibility is Key!

At Photo Booth Fun we like to think that we are leaders in flexibility with our booths. A key to this is being able to transport our booths virtually anywhere, so long as we are within ten metres range of a power outlet and on level ground. If your event is about location just as much as it is about fun then we would like to take a step forward and extend our services to you!

We have, in our arsenal a fleet of highly portable, durably constructed and top quality Photo Booths; with plenty of experience in utilising our booths in locations that you might not initially think are possible. Over the last couple of years our booths have attended the Internationally recognised WOMAD festival in New Plymouth, The Devonport food and Wine Festival, Taste Martinborough and The Pacifica and Polyfest event in Auckland to mention but a handful.

On many occasions our booths have been required on the upper levels of office buildings and sometimes underground in wine cellars, on farms in the middle of nowhere or on school fields for gala evenings. We can pack our booth down to a compact footprint and wheel it on a trolley to help us gain access via your building lift or access ramp and although it takes a bit of extra effort we are often able to lug it up stairwells too (although some of our smaller operators may require help from a few strapping blokes if they’re feeling gentlemanly).

We also like to make sure nobody is left out of the fun, so we try to offer solutions to issues such as height (small children and little people) and mobility (people in wheel chairs), in these cases we can provide a stool or locate the booth near a platform or ramp if available. If this isn’t a viable option we can always allocate a portion of time to reducing the height of our booth and letting those who may have missed out get snapped a few times, ensuring that nobody has to sit on the sidelines.

We would love to talk to you if you’re planning any event that you may think could benefit from our added flexibility, so please don’t hesitate to contact us and find out if we can help you with your next shindig! Until next post, have a fun time out there :)

The Team that Booths together stays together

IMG_0144One of the things that I do, as the Wellington manager, is look back over the pictures taken in our booth from time to time. One of the things I’ve noticed recently is a lot of photos of teams of people, costumed the same, having a great time. That’s because Wellington businesses are catching on to the idea that Photo Booths aren’t just entirely “a little bit of fun” – they can have a purpose too.

When it comes to organising a team-building day having a photo booth in the mix can be a great way for the teams involved to document what’s going on in their own way without the “intrusion” of a regular photographer who can make some people feel self-conscious. A booth can either be there for teams to use at their whim or it can be built right in to the challenges. For example, if there was a wearable art challenge as part of a team build day part of the challenge could involve a photo shoot in a booth. Or a team could be instructed to tell a simple story through the four photos that make up a strip from the photo booth. There are a tonne of different ways that a booth could be integrated into your day and then it could be kept on for an entirely different reason if there is an evening function, especially if partners are involved.

We’ve got plenty of experience in how to make a photo booth a fun part of any sort of event you are organising so don’t hesitate to get in touch and pick our brains for ideas!

Backdrop love – making it your own

We love the fact that our photo booths have a curtain that you can hide behind and get all crazy… but the fun doesn’t have to stop there!

For the more adventurous posers out there the curtain can be flung back to reveal all – posing with an audience can be just as fun! While a blank wall can be nice, a bit of DIY can take you booth experience up a notch – if you can fancy up the wall behind you or even find a fun and interesting wall you can give your guests the option to stay behind the curtain or have photos with a unique back drop or both!  – You can even add something to the existing curtain to make it your own – like Sam did for his Indian themed 50th, goodbye black curtain and hello blue sari.

This idea really got us thinking so off we went to search for some fun and different ideas that could inspire a curtain alternative …. remember you can keep the curtain on while still having a fabulous background on standby … we love what we found….have a look at these beauties and let your imagination go, we would love to see what you come up with!

Great marketing and exposure!

Hi there,

Here at Photo Booth Fun we think our product is an excellent way for businesses and charities to gain exposure and to get themselves talked about in a positive light. Many corporate and charitable organisations greatly benefit from the inclusion of one of our booths and operators at any function or event that they may be involved with.

With our mandate to create lasting memories and our excellent designers ability to add your branding and relevant information to one of our custom photo strips, we are able to increase the chances of your organisation being talked about when people display or show off their unique photo strips as they reminisce about that fantastic time they had at your company’s event.

Here are a few examples to demonstrate what we are talking about.

We would love to have the opportunity to collaborate with your company or charitable organisation and help you to potentially gain valuable exposure and make your mark  on guests or clients in a meaningful and fun way! We are confident we can excel in contributing to making any event a resounding success!

Image Quality Matters

Welcome to the end of June folks!

It has been a month of chilly weather here in the Bay of Plenty, in fact all over the country it has been freezing! I hope you’ve all kept safe, dry and warm over the last month, it’s sad to say but I think it’s only going to get colder!

With the cold weather there comes comfort in warming up with friends and family and reminiscing over fond memories. Memories are great, but can fade, so sometimes having a picture to renew those old feelings can be a valuable addition to any story or evening around the fireplace. Unfortunately some photos don’t stand the test of time, however some do. Like the high quality colour, or black and white prints from our Photo Booths.

We know that our equipment is top notch, and delivers exceptional results, consistently, that stand the test of time. Which given that you’re paying your hard earned money for our services, transforms the experience from a mere novelty, to a worthwhile investment in memories that can be drawn upon time and time again to provide cheer when the weather or other factors conspire to make the outlook gloomy.

We also have some pretty cool guys and girls working for us who don’t mind you and your guests cutting loose and having a great time. It’s of huge importance to us that every part of the Photo Booth Fun experience lives up to its name!

Just check out these images from our most recent event here in the Bay of Plenty to gain an insight into the sort of emotion that we can help you to take home in your pocket or bag, or custom guestbook, or frame, or custom memory stick, or custom envelope, or even in a private online gallery. We like to give you more than a couple of options!

Bay of Plenty-School Balls and Wedding Shows

Posted by David, in Awards, Corporate, Events, Marketing

Hi everybody,

Over here in the Bay of Plenty we have had a great month attending the local school balls and getting amongst the excitement, for many of the students it was their first school ball. Luckily our booth was there to help capture the priceless memories of the night for them to enjoy in years to come! We attended the Mount College Ball, followed by the Tauranga Girls College Ball and rounded off by the Otumoetai College Ball. It’s not over yet either! We still have a few more school balls coming up in the two months and we are always really excited to help make our mark on a very special evening for many!

Judging by the hordes of photos our booths have snapped from the first ball up to now (averaging 1150 per event!) and by the size of the never ending and continually recycling queue’s, we would say the booths are a feature not to be overlooked. It’s almost common place to see one of our booths at such events, and we can tell you that it just doesn’t get old seeing people emerge with wide grins and having a laugh when they examine the prints of their (frequently contorted) faces!

Additionally this month we were fortunate to have a stand at the Tauranga Wedding Show, held at ASB Baypark Arena. It was a great day and Taylor our regional manager was there talking to the lovely faces who came forward and courageously stepped into our booth for some first hand experience, it’s funny how once you’ve had a turn, you want to have another. We also asked people to submit their email into our iPad, we did this because we had been planning a special show offer that we have now sent out to the recipients, we think it’s a good one!

Part of our business philosophy is making your party or special event come alive and go down in history (at least with your friends and guests) as a great time worth every cent. We pride ourselves on the standard of customer service we provide, along with the quality we maintain throughout the process, from the use of high quality cameras to outstanding printers that make your photos look like they’re straight from the studio. Why just create memories that’ll last when you could also create exceptional material that lasts too!

At Photo Booth Fun we like to go the extra mile to help get things just right for your event, so if you’ve got any queries or questions regarding the potential for us to transform your personal or corporate event into a fondly remembered occasion where everybody can get involved, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us in the Bay of Plenty region at bayofplenty@photoboothfun.co.nz we will be happy to answer any questions you may or talk about options for your potential future booking.

Finally we are proud to announce our category sponsorship for our first year of the New Zealand Wedding Industry Awards, we are going to be there, with our booth, getting amongst the festivities and making sure everybody has a great night!

Until next time, have a great month ahead,

Taylor Shea- Bay of Plenty Manager – Photo Booth Fun NZ
