IMG_0275The North City Wedding Expo is almost upon us Wellingtonians!

And its a great way to find everything you need for a wedding all under one roof – especially your booth! We’ve said it before but it bears repeating – you try out lots of other things that go into your wedding (even your future spouse!) so you really should get your props on and get into one of our booths. Its a great way to get in some wedding day kiss practice and we know this because trying to find a photo from last year’s expo that didn’t involve a lip-locked couple was no easy task!

If you haven’rt already sent out invites or other details about your wedding hold onto those strips you get from the booth because with a little scanning and some creativity you could have some really fun images!

We’ve talked about how much we enjoy these expos before and its true – they really are a great way to meet brides, grooms and families and start the process of creating memories. So come along to the Te Raupararaha Arena in Porirua on 24 January and come give our fantastic booth a trial run!

The team at Photo Booth Fun would like to wish you all the very best for the holiday season! Though I’m writing this from Sunny Hawkes Bay I know all our staff from right around the country join with me in Merry Christmas

We’ve been involved in some awesome events this year in Hawkes Bay, from Weddings to 21st Parties, from 50th, 60th and 70th birthdays to the Special Children’s Extravaganza, from School Balls to  work conferences and functions and an amazing night at Christmas at the Park with Dave Dobbyn and 27000 guests I can honestly say it’s been a fantastic year for Napier, Hastings, Havelock North and the whole Hawkes Bay region!

And 2016 is looking to be even better! I look forward to our team coming to your special event and adding some extra photobooth fun!

Waikato BOP Special Children’s Christmas Party

The Waikato team are stoked to be supporting the Waikato BOP region Special Children’s Christmas Party at Mystery Creek on Saturday the 12th December.

This years party will start at 10:45 am and run for three and a half fun filled hours during which time the children will be treated to a star studded stage show featuring many local, national and international artists. There will be bouncing castles, face painting, our photobooth of course(!) merry-go-rounds, petting zoos, pony rides, clowns, dancers, fairies, magicians, hoop shooting contests, bowling alleys, Police and Army displays, etc to provide plenty of fun and entertainment. With all this fun to be had there will be all the drinks, lollies, chippies, sausages, iceblocks, ice creams, burgers, sandwiches, fruit juice, apples etc. that we can provide to keep the energy levels high.

Santa has made some spectacular entrances such as abseiling down from a 20 metre high roof with his 6 helper elves, on horseback with Mark Todd at the reins, in a Ferrari, on Harley Davidson motor bikes, in a Rolls Royce Limousine, on a sleigh pulled by 2 Newfoundland dogs, on a fire engine etc. After wishing everyone a merry Christmas it is then off to the HUGE Santa’s caves filled with thousands of top quality gifts that spread for over 70 metres. This is when every special child, will receive 3 or 4 high quality gifts to call their own and personally meet Santa.

Flexibility is Key!

At Photo Booth Fun we like to think that we are leaders in flexibility with our booths. A key to this is being able to transport our booths virtually anywhere, so long as we are within ten metres range of a power outlet and on level ground. If your event is about location just as much as it is about fun then we would like to take a step forward and extend our services to you!

We have, in our arsenal a fleet of highly portable, durably constructed and top quality Photo Booths; with plenty of experience in utilising our booths in locations that you might not initially think are possible. Over the last couple of years our booths have attended the Internationally recognised WOMAD festival in New Plymouth, The Devonport food and Wine Festival, Taste Martinborough and The Pacifica and Polyfest event in Auckland to mention but a handful.

On many occasions our booths have been required on the upper levels of office buildings and sometimes underground in wine cellars, on farms in the middle of nowhere or on school fields for gala evenings. We can pack our booth down to a compact footprint and wheel it on a trolley to help us gain access via your building lift or access ramp and although it takes a bit of extra effort we are often able to lug it up stairwells too (although some of our smaller operators may require help from a few strapping blokes if they’re feeling gentlemanly).

We also like to make sure nobody is left out of the fun, so we try to offer solutions to issues such as height (small children and little people) and mobility (people in wheel chairs), in these cases we can provide a stool or locate the booth near a platform or ramp if available. If this isn’t a viable option we can always allocate a portion of time to reducing the height of our booth and letting those who may have missed out get snapped a few times, ensuring that nobody has to sit on the sidelines.

The Wedding Gift NZ & Giving something back

I don’t think many of us can even begin to imagine how earth shattering getting news that our lives will end sooner than we ever thought could ever be, it isn’t something that we like to think about…. But just for a moment imagine you have just been given a limited time to live…. I think at that point most of us would begin to write a list of things that we wanted to check off while we still could. For some people one of the most important things on that list could be to marry the one they love. Now imagine that getting married is on your bucket list but you simply don’t have the time, or the knowledge or possibly the funds to achieve that big day? Heart-breaking! Well there is a new organisation in town and it is set to make all the difference – a caring, selfless non-profit organisation to help those who are terminally ill to achieve their wedding dreams and Photo Booth Fun are right there with them.

The Wedding Gift NZ is a non-profit organisation providing/planning wedding ceremonies and celebrations for people with life threatening or terminal illnesses in Taranaki. (Although in time, the aim is you reach far more than just Taranaki)

Services are provided by local business without prejudice or agenda for the simple purpose of sharing love and providing lasting memories.

Great marketing and exposure!

Here at Photo Booth Fun we think our product is an excellent way for businesses and charities to gain exposure and to get themselves talked about in a positive light. Flying through time with Photo Booth Fun

We often have people say things to us like “oh wow a photo booth – they really are the latest craze aren’t they” – and while they are very popular in 2015 did you know they date back a LONG way – a seriously long way! They first hit the world long before Hair dryers, band aids, instant coffee and even before the first plane took off!

To find out where the photo booth journey really starts we need to fly back in time, way back to the year 1888. In 1888 there were two man who were clearly born before their time who first came up with the idea of an automated photography machine. Unfortunately for Mr William Pope and Mr Edward Pope there newly patented invention was never actually made –  but what a fabulous idea it was and this is where the photo booth story begins.

Fast forward a few years to 1889 and the Paris World Fair and meet another couple of clever thinking gentlemen, Mr T. E. Enjalbert and German Photographer Mathew Steffens. Now these two were more than just ideas men and they presented the very first working photo booth – which was very cool but unfortunately it wasn’t overly reliable (unlike our VERY reliable Photo Booth Fun booths) so that was really the end of that!

Now if we fast forward another couple of years we meet German inventor Conrad Bernitt and this dude was really onto it. He created the first ever commercially successful photo booth, producing ferrotypes, he went on to name this marvelous invention “Bosco”…I really think it is one cool looking piece of machinery!

The next clever guy in photo booth history was Carl Sasse who in 1896 thought up and produced the first machine to produce images using the negative and positive process which was a bit of a major and led on to the beginning of the photo booth craze in the 1920s! From that point on photo booths started popping up across the world – providing hours of entertainment for generations!

So there you have it! Photo Booths – the latest craze since 1923!  92 years ago – that’s not bad going for a craze!

Welcome to the end of June folks!

It has been a month of chilly weather here in the Bay of Plenty, in fact all over the country it has been freezing! I hope you’ve all kept safe, dry and warm over the last month, it’s sad to say but I think it’s only going to get colder!

With the cold weather there comes comfort in warming up with friends and family and reminiscing over fond memories. Memories are great, but can fade, so sometimes having a picture to renew those old feelings can be a valuable addition to any story or evening around the fireplace. Unfortunately some photos don’t stand the test of time, however some do. Like the high quality colour, or black and white prints from our Photo Booths.

We know that our equipment is top notch, and delivers exceptional results, consistently, that stand the test of time. Which given that you’re paying your hard earned money for our services, transforms the experience from a mere novelty, to a worthwhile investment in memories that can be drawn upon time and time again to provide cheer when the weather or other factors conspire to make the outlook gloomy.

We also have some pretty cool guys and girls working for us who don’t mind you and your guests cutting loose and having a great time. It’s of huge importance to us that every part of the Photo Booth Fun experience lives up to its name!

We love to have you back!

There is something so exciting about repeat bookings! We love that we get to attend your events each year – it is always so nice to see you again!

Obviously repeat weddings wouldn’t be ideal, after all you aim to do those just the one time BUT school balls and corporate events are a different story! It really is the greatest compliment to ask us back for another of your events and it sure makes us feel all loved! A couple of weeks ago the Taranaki Team headed back to do another SHGC ball and like always it was an awesome evening! It seems people can just never have enough of Photo Booth Fun!

Thank-you for remembering us and our booth each time you plan your events, we can’t wait for the repeat Christmas bookings! If you haven’t had one of our booths before … well why not?
