Wedding season is in full swing, and the Waikato must be popular, as this month the Waikato and Bay of Plenty PBF team had the honour of attending our Auckland and Tauranga wedding expo prize winnerâ€™s receptions.

Firstly a great night with Chris & Gemma, our Tauranga wedding expo winners, at their Blonde RestaurantÂ reception in Whitianga.

And the next day we had a fun, boisterous (and did I mention FUN) bunch of Aucklanders and South Africans for Royden and Louiseâ€™s pre wedding reception drinks at the amazing Ag Heritage Village at Mystery Creek.

Remember that the Waikato and Bay of Plenty team are part of a national group of fun and zany photo booth professionals. Our booth will be shipped to Queenstown for a weekend of bookings later this month, and next month weâ€™ll be on the road for an event in Hawera.Â So no matter where you are in New Zealand, as long as there is power supply and trolley access, if you want to book a booth for your event we can be there!

Wow, I’ve gotta agree with the Wellington team when they say that time’sÂ flown recently – Where does it go in such a hurry?!

We’ve been up to all sorts this past while; I’m so glad that winter isn’t deterring people from getting out and having fun! For instance, have a look at what The Press’s ever entertaining columnist Beck Eleven has to say about her photo booth experience – It’s always great to see the hilarity that comes from a night with one of our booths. And the great thing about our included USB is that it doesn’t end on the night, as she explains so well!

Last month saw us at the Mid Canterbury Wedding ExpoÂ in Ashburton. The organisers did such a good job getting everything in order so we had aÂ superb day meeting people from the area and getting lots of people inside the photobooth toÂ get snapped.

We may not have the olympics here (how proud are we of team NZ’s achievements in London btw?) but last weekend we did have the NZCAF Aerobics Regionals and we have the booth pics to prove it. Â So much talent around that day!

Well school ball season is still in full swing, there have been so many laughs and great memories so far and we have a few more before the month is out Â – But don’t despair if you haven’t booked one for your ball – There’s still time! (Though I still don’t know where it goes..).

It’s mid-winter…Time to party!

Of course all of this applies to the real Christmas parties later in the year too (we all know it’ll be on us before we know it!) The photo booth is the perfect addition to get people in the Christmas spirit and we have some ideas to make the most of Photo Booth Fun at your party:

Include props to add that extra bit of fun â€“ If you have a special theme, let us know and weâ€™ll see if we can find the right additions.
Create a backdrop that suits â€“ Balloons, streamers and decorations can really add to the festive feeling.
If itâ€™s for the office, having your logo inserted on the photo strip is a great way for everyone to remember your party for even longer.
Using the best Photo Booth Fun pictures for your Christmas card is an excellent way to stand out from the crowd.
Create funny stories: Make up situations and circumstances and have people act them out over the four shots â€“ You can try acting out songs or stories and include a game where guests have to guess from the photo strips. And if you choose to include our online gallery, it can be funny for guests to try to match the photo strips to the scenarios later on!!
And of course, festive costumes and decorations always help people get in the spirit!

Well here in Christchurch we’ve been welcomed into winter in no uncertain terms! The snow hit and we’ve been wrapping up and staying indoors (except when building the odd snowman of course).

We’ve also welcomed the start of the school ball season and kicked off with a carnival themed ball at Mount Hutt College in Methven – Clowns riding tiny bikes, stilt walkers, palm readers and of course, Photo Booth Fun – It really was a night to remember â€“ Some fantastic organization from the MHC school ball committee!

If youâ€™re planning your school ball, we can bring that extra something to make it memorable and oh so fun! Our team in Auckland have come up with some cool ideas about how to help you raise the funds and have kindly shared the love with me way down here in Chch, so get in touch if youâ€™d like to know more.

We always love getting on board with fundraisers and another fun thing we did last month was join Mondo Travel RiccartonÂ for their In the Pink afternoon tea – A fundraiser in support of the Breast Cancer Foundation with raffles, bubbles and a pink themed afternoon tea. There were some fabulous outfits there and a lot of laughs in the photobooth. And best of all, Mondo managed to raise over $10 000 for the cause â€“ Brilliant!

Â Ok, Iâ€™m off to perfect my snowman (right now itâ€™s more of a snowblob) â€“ If youâ€™re looking to reward all of this winter braving with a well deserved mid winter Christmas party, donâ€™t forget, having Photo Booth Fun along for the ride will up the fun factor one hundred percent and give you a lasting memento of the merriment!

Having a Ball in the Bay…

Well we’re well and truly into School Ball Season here in the Sunny Hawkes Bay! Here’s a few images from the Sacred Heart College/St John’s College Avatar themed ball held at the War Memorial Centre in Napier on Saturday, I especially love it when the staff really get in on the act… have a closer look at that nice face art!

All in all some gorgeous gowns, smart suits, and lots of Photo Booth Fun had by all! Check out the rest of the photos from the Gallery tab above.

Autumn in Christchurch

What a beautiful sight Christchurch is in the autumn â€“ So many pretty colours! Sure weâ€™ve had to add a few extra layers lately but weâ€™ve been having a great time over the past month.

Great New Zealand Bridal Show
We took ourselves along to the Christchurch Wedding Expo at the Addington Events Centre and what a day we had! We met so many lovely couples and had so many people giving the photobooth a whirl – We hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did! We even got a snap of the Christchurch team (left strip): Thatâ€™s Nick in the middle, Natalie on the left and iâ€™m the smart one on the right (smartâ€™s a synonym for older right?) Â Can you see a resemblance? Weeell, maybe not but itâ€™s a family affair down here !

We also met some great local businesses who are definitely worth checking out when youâ€™re planning your big day. There was so much talent squeezed into the one place! Like the lovely Fallon and Nathan from Oh Buttercup and the friendly team from Hurunui Village (we even managed to savour some of their delicious wares after our big day – Yum!)

AMI Stadium Community Open Day
The excellent organisation of Choice Chch, thousands of people and some fantastic weather made this a day to remember and our photo booth gave people a memoir to take home too. It almost felt like we had all 20000 visitors through the booth!

I feel very privileged to be returning to my hometown of Christchurch after fifteen years away and am super excited to bring Photo Booth Fun with me. There is such a sense of optimism in the region for 2012 and the city is showing its impressive resilient spirit and creativity with new innovations and developments everywhere â€“ From the pop-up mall, to bars, cafes and even a new venue for the wonderful Court Theatre – Not to mention the incredible and dynamic creations from the Gap Filler team: where anyone with an idea and initiative can enlist their help to transform vacant sites into temporary, creative projects for the benefit of the community : www.gapfiller.org.nzÂ So cool!

Weâ€™ve had a great welcome in Christchurch with the regionâ€™s universities making sure they started their year off with some photobooth lovin. From a Lincoln Staff Garden Party to a 1600 strong toga party at Canterbury University. And of course, along with our teammates in the other centres around NZ, we joined ECPAT to help spread their important message during O week.

And the funâ€™s not over for our uni mates, weâ€™re looking forward to joining Canterbury graduates at the annual UCSA Grad Ball on April 27th. So, if youâ€™ve graduated and want a chance to not only dress up and celebrate your time at uni but to jump in our booth and get snapped in your finery, we hope to see you there!

Iâ€™m off now to prepare for what I think is a birthday party record for the Photo Booth Fun team â€“ A 90th celebration â€“ And since the party is my very own Granddadâ€™s, I know there wonâ€™t be a crocheted afghan or pair of slippers in sight â€“ Just lots of fun celebrating and getting snapped in the booth!

Helping to end child slavery and BIG balloons!

The Photo Booth Fun team have been busy in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty helping to celebrateÂ heaps of Weddings and Birthdays.Â Nationally weâ€™ve been getting outÂ and about supporting some awesome charities too…

Ecpat â€“ Child Alert
While we have lots of fun at Photo Booth Fun we also like to support worthwhile causes like Star Ship and the Child Cancer Foundation. Over theÂ past few weeks our national network of photo booth operators have helped www.ecpat.org.nz and their â€˜Donâ€™t Sweep it Under the Rugâ€™ uni tour, to spreadÂ their message of ending the commercial sexual exploitation of children in New Zealand and around the world. The tour passed through Auckland’s AUT, Wellington’s Victoria University, Palmerston North’s Massey University, Canterbury University in Christchurch and Dunedin’s Otago University, and finished up at Waikato University; we were stoked with the response from our uni students. Lego Photobooth

I suppose I should be doing my first Hawkes Bay blog entry about how Photo Booth Fun now has a Photo Booth based here in the beautiful sunny Hawke’s Bay ready to serve all the wonderful weddings and events that happen here but I just had to share this…

I was getting everything ready to go out to Justine & Jamie’s wedding at Craggy Range Winery in Havelock North, when my 11 year old son turned up with this… a Lego Photo Booth, complete with operator, client, camera box and photo strip, and even the trolley to transport to the venue. Awesome stuff! Gotta love kids creativity.
