With Mayday just behind us it seems like a good idea to think about things that bring workmates together – and a Photo Booth is one of them.

Shared experiences are always a great way to bond folk together and a shared experience where you take something away with you makes the memory of that experience last a little bit longer. Photo Booths provide that. With strips to take away and a USB stick of all the images captured in the booth on hand after the event there’s plenty of memories to go around.

And the props box is a great leveler. Whether you are a CEO or mail room clerk, silly glasses and a hat are silly glasses and a hat. Photo Booths put everyone on the same level fun playing field. And there’s nothing like a bit of equality to bring the workers together.

Wedding Planning Hits Taranaki

2014 is flying by as we hit the time of year where our summer brides are packing away their dresses into boxes, sending out thank-you cards and looking back through their Photo Booth Fun strips deciding which ones will be best for blackmail! …it is also the time of year when next season brides begin the exciting job of wedding planning wahoooo!

Having a photo booth at your wedding will make for an evening your guests will never forget as they place those beautifully customised photo strips proudly on the fridge to remind them just how much fun they had at your wedding!

The Taranaki team are huge fans of weddings and wedding planning which makes them super excited to be involved with 3 fabulous wedding events this month! We have lined up some very cool places to show off the booth to all soon-to-be brides, so come along and have a go!

We will start our wedding planning season at the South Taranaki Wedding Fair on Sunday May 18th followed by the Taranaki Weddings Mystery Bus Tour on Saturday May 24th and then the Taranaki Wedding and Events Expo on Sunday May 25th (by this time our team will probably be running on serious amounts of coffee but will still be super enthusiastic about promoting the booth and showing just how perfect it can make your event)!

A busy month of Expos ….

It has been all go with exciting expos for the Auckland crew over the past few weeks – we have been lucky enough to attend three awesome expos and may have seen you at one of them!

The first one was the school ball expo at the Ellerslie Events Centre – everything you need for your school ball was under the one roof – from dress makers, to DJ’s to Photo Booths (of course!!).  It was great to see so many students and ball committee members attend and everyone appeared to have a thoroughly good afternoon.  If you were at this expo and haven’t checked your photos out on our online gallery, you need to do so today!

Next up was Convene – a full day expo held at the Viaduct Events Centre.  Convene is a place where key organisers for corporate events (like team building, Christmas parties etc), come together and get ideas & inspirations about planning their upcoming events.  It was great to see so many faces from the year before there – a sign of how popular this event is becoming.

And then last (but by no means least!!), we had the bi-annual Grand Wedding Show at Sky City this weekend just gone.  And what an event this one is …. its awesome!  Hundreds and hundreds of brides, grooms, bridesmaids, best men etc all under one roof planning their dream day!  Two of our booths were in constant use all day long as people got a good feel for what Photo Booth Fun is all about. One of the best things about including props in your booth package is how much everybody gets into dressing up. Even the most shy get hooked on finding the best mix and match and striking the funniest pose. From the very young to the very old, no one is immune to the power of the prop. Imagine your grandparents decked out in fake beards, silly hats and glasses.. Photo Booth Fun can make that happen!

Mitch and Abbey’s wedding in Ashburton last month was a prime example of the hilarity of props in action. I love seeing the way people combine props to make new hilarious looks. Everyone brings a bit of their own creativity to their look and the result is always brilliant!

Guaranteed hilarity. Guaranteed memorable fun for you and your guests.

A spot of marketing

After a whirlwind couple of months it was great to get into the Porirua markets last weekend.

Not that there was any less mayhem and energy – just a different type. We parked our trusty photo booth amidst the food stalls and got to be part of one of Wellington’s best weekly doses of fun, colour and great food, produce and other amazing stuff.

As it always does, it takes some people a while to click to the fact that having something as awesome as a photo booth free for them to use is possible. But once we got the message out there was a queue of families, waiting for a photo and even one guy that we had to break the sad news to that the background was the wrong colour for a legitimate passport photo!

Thanks for having us Porirua Saturday Markets! If you haven’t got along on a Saturday morning you’re missing out on great food and vegies, awesome Pasifika food and some of the best fudge you’ll find!

We might even come back for another time round later in the year.

 


Crusaders evening of courage

This month we had the privilege of bringing our photo booth along to support the Crusaders’ Evening of Courage with the Child Cancer Foundation here in Christchurch.

With my favourites, George, Kieran and Richie all taking turns having their pics taken with the kids (and some adoring grown-ups) , I had a bit of an inner struggle to not push in and get a few shots with them myself! But there was no way I was  taking a turn from those lovely kids and their families.

It was such an amazing night and what legends the Crusaders were – Making so many people’s nights by jumping in and getting their pose on in the booth. But not everyone wanted one of the boys in their shot, the Crusaders dance troupe were just as popular and a definite favourite for one special girl.

What a busy month its been!

What a busy month its been!  Our booths have certainly been getting a work out as we have attended some fantastic events!  We have attended lots and lots of stunning weddings and, as always, we get so much delight in seeing couples in love on their special day (and of course watching their guests have a blast in the booth!).

The past month has also seen us spend a few days at Auckland Cup week, the NZ Robotics Nationals, AUT open days and this week we are at Polyfest!  Its certainly been all go!

Amongst that we were able to attend one particularly special wedding. It was that of Vivian Fittall, who married Jack Waller in their fairytale wedding.  Vivian and Jack had a two-year relationship and a healthy baby girl but their happiness was shattered with news that cancer had spread to Vivian’s bowel, liver and lungs.  Marrying her soulmate in the time she had left meant everything to Vivian, and through social media and campaigning, an entire community pulled together to make her dream come true.  It was a truly magical day and we were so honoured to be a part of it.

Up, Up and Away!

Hamilton is celebrating it’s 150th Birthday and will be having the biggest birthday cake we’ve ever seen…piloted by Frank Prell, the Birthday Cake hot air balloon will be a huge part of the Balloons Over Waikato – Party On events.

One of the biggest and best free activities in the Waikato, hot air balloons and their skilled pilots will once again be adorning our skies, filling it with wonderous colour and shapes.

New shapes for this year include the Hummingbird, Angry Bird and Rocketman! Can’t wait.

If you’re lucky enough to be in the corporate tent, Photobooth Fun will see you there for your 2014 photos.
