We’re loving it here in Christchurch!

Wow, it’s been such a wonderful month in Canterbury for Photo Booth Fun. We’ve been busy with weddings, birthday parties and community events and it’s all been a great experience. Last Sunday we were at the Kidz Karnival – A fantastic, brilliantly organised event created as part of our national Children’s Day and a great opportunity for the kids of Christchurch to get out and have fun. We met some lovely families and saw a lot of fun poses go down – There was a lot of laughter in the booth that day!

 

 

Lately I’ve noticed people having fun with, and really getting a lot out of the guestbook album option that we offer with our photo booth hire. We all know how much fun a box of props are in the photo booth but if you’re looking for something to add an extra dimension to your indelible memories of the night, our beautiful handmade album may be just the thing.

 

Our attendant will look after your album on the night and your guests can sign or write messages to go along with their photos. And the great news is, they also get to keep a copy of the photo strip so there are take home memories for everyone! Here are some things people have said about the album:

“The album is fantastic, a very cool keepsake from our day.  So much fun – thank you!”

“We just loved looking through the album later – Some beautiful and some hilarious sentiments and lots of great photos! It’s such a special reminder of the day as I don’t get to see many of these people very often.”

“The copy of the prints for guests, and one for us with a guestbook on the night were great.”

“I also ordered the album print out option and I now have a book with a copy of each photo strip and a message from the guests, it’s a great little keepsake.”

It’s easy peasy to arrange (some of our packages even have the album included!) and you’ll get this fantastic treasure to keep and look back through whenever the mood takes you.

 

On Friday 8th march we’re going to be joining Anissa Victoria and friends at the Twilight Vintage Market – There are so many cool things on offer so come on down, do some shopping, listen to live music  and have a go in the photo booth!

Yes that’s right, Photo Booth Fun’s Christchurch branch marked one year in operation at the start of February and what do you think we’ve been doing to celebrate? Weddings, weddings and more weddings!

Our second year in the South Island started with some lovely celebrations – Not only at some of the fantastic local venues around Christchurch, but we also got to travel a bit further for a few weddings.

Travelling out of Christchurch, we were pleased to take our booth to picturesque Geraldine for a fab wedding at StoneBridge – A very impressive venue, perfect for weddings, conferences, work parties – You name it! Carmel and the team were super friendly and helpful and the guests had loads of fun in the booth.

A new (for us) local venue we got to check out last week was the beautifully located Living Springs.  Situated overlooking Lyttleton Harbour, the view is a must see. And they’re not just a wedding venue – They’re also a great choice for corporate and/or training events. With the wonderful work of Denis, Rose and all of the lovely staff, on-site catering and accommodation and Photo Booth Fun just a phone call away, you’re looking at a prize spot for your next big event!

 

We had a wonderful first year and got to take the photo booth to so many cool locations – From as far south as The Catlins to all around Otago and Canterbury. We always love taking the booth to new spots and as we’re happy to service anywhere in the South Island, the team are looking forward to some more visits further afield as our second year here progresses.

 

 

This week we’re taking the booth back to Ashburton for the second Friday in a row and then down to Oamaru the following week.. Start how you mean to continue is my new motto so bring on year two!

This is a great time to come and speak to Wedding professionals from Napier, Hastings, in fact all over the greater Hawkes Bay area, and get inspired. And get all those tricky questions answered! Remember this might be your one and only Big Day but we do them all the time so we know what we’re doing. Using Wedding professionals means you get the best of the everything with a ton of experience to boot!

2013 Auckland Wish List

It’s hard to believe the first month of 2013 is almost over and we haven’t shared our New Year’s resolutions with you!

In 2012 we had so many NZ celebs grace us with their presence in our booth, during some of the wonderful functions we attended in Auckland last year we decided this year we’d aim to see some international celebs!

These are the top five people we’d love to see in our booth this year…

  • 1.       President Obama

We’ve met John Key a couple of times in 2012 and politically speaking he’s about as big as it gets in NZ so this year we’d love to meet the Commander in Chief!

  • 2.       Kim Dot Com

We’ve heard he throws an awesome party!!

  • 3.       Kim Kardashian and Kanye West

I read somewhere that their wedding could cost US$10 million – who wouldn’t want to attend that shindig?!!!  Perhaps we could arrange some gold and diamond encrusted photo strips??

  • 4.       One Direction

We’ve never had a boy band in our Auckland booth and as the mother of two boys I can honestly say the only thing cuter than a photo of two boys is.. a photo of five boys!!

  • 5.       Big Foot.  Aka Sasquatch.  Aka The Abominable Snowman

Loads of people have seen him but none have taken a decent picture.  Wouldn’t it be awesome if the first photo of this mystic beast was in one of our booths…

So that’s the Auckland wish list for 2013 – my mother always told me dreams were free!

Christchurch – A look back at 2012

Wow, hard to believe it’s a new year already! It’s been such a great experience so far in Christchurch, bring on the fun for 2013!

 

We saw all manner of events throughout 2012 and enjoyed them all: School balls, product launches, graduation celebrations, Halloween festivities, company parties, jubilees, orientation madness, conferences and Christmas parties.. Phew!

 

Not to mention the many birthday celebrations, from 21sts to 90ths and most milestones in between. The photo booth is such a great way to add that extra something to your party – Even the most sceptical party goers are addicts by the night’s end (with a fat wad of photo strips in their pocket to keep for later laughs!).

 

And of course, we’ve had lots of wonderful weddings at some amazing venues around Canterbury – There’s been some spectacular scenery so far and I look forward to seeing more this year – And not only Canterbury; we’ve got a lot of trips to look forward to this summer, taking our fun along to weddings in Otago and all over the South Island. I don’t think I’ll ever tire of seeing the laughing faces of guests spilling from the booth, redoubling their mirth when they see the printed strip – It’s excellent!

 

One of the real privileges for me so far has been being able to be part of some of the fantastic local events that are helping to lift the spirits and keep the people and communities of Christchurch going. There’s such an effort to not just keep on keeping on but to get out and really enjoy what’s on offer, it’s very inspiring.

 

Fundraisers have also been hugely rewarding for the Canterbury team and I hope we can continue to help bring some fun and funds to some more worthwhile causes throughout 2013. Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have a fundraiser you’d like some help with, we’re always keen to get involved!

Summer Time In Christchurch…

Ok, I don’t want to tempt fate here, but it is a beaut day outside, over the weekend the smell of barbeques and freshly mowed lawns filled the air, Christchurch residents were daring to bare their pasty winter pins as shorts and jandals came out out in force and people got up and out to enjoy the weather – A hopeful but tentative nod to summer, full of good feeling and camaraderie.

I know I’m looking forward to the many festive activities that are on offer this season: There’s shopping at  some of the fantastic markets, choirs and carol singing,  Christmas on Latimer (next weekend I’m going to take advantage of those very inviting beanbags) and lots of local community Christmas celebrations. A lot of Cantabrians still have so much to cope with so hopefully some of what’s on offer can provide a bit of well deserved respite and enjoyment.

We’ve been busy sharing in the festive feelings and joining some wonderful celebrations. At the end of November we were honoured to be a part of the Radio Network’s Special Children’s Christmas Party – What a brilliant day for some lovely kids and families.

And of course we’re all now getting ready for Christmas, Planning and shopping, shopping and planning! The company Xmas parties are happening right up until the eleventh hour which makes us happy; Nothing brings on the festive mood like encouraging a load of revellers dressed in Christmas getup into the photo booth for much merriment and laughter.

So wishing you all a very merry Christmas from the Christchurch Photo Booth Fun team – I’m off to enjoy the sunshine!

News from Christchurch

Wow, it’s been a fair while since I’ve piped up with news of Christchurch – Things have been getting pretty busy as not only is wedding season in full swing but Christmas is just around the corner (yikes – who’s done their shopping? – Not me!) and the photo booth is a superb hit for the company Xmas party. Especially fun when you add props to the mix!

 

And here’s a little known fact: There is a strong correlation between broken photocopiers and an absence of Photo Booth Fun at office Christmas parties.

 

 

 

 

We’ve also seen fundraisers, graduation parties, fantastic Halloween festivities and the Melbourne cup celebrated with style. We’ve been to some great venues around Chch and Canterbury and we even made it to Queenstown for the Accountants’ Big Day Out, thanks to the talented people at CCH Business Fitness – Anyone who reckons accountants don’t know how to have fun – We’ve got the pictures to prove otherwise (and the photobooth never lies!).

 

We’re looking forward to the Radio Network’s Special Children’s Christmas Party this weekend, a lot of fun for some well deserving kids. Not to mention a few more Christmas parties and weddings –  It should be a good one!

What some of our crew get up to when they’re not rocking a booth!

Two of our Waikato team member’s have just finished a busy season working on the television series Spartacus:War of the Damned.

Our operator Joe has spent a good part of 2012 starting at 4.00am; the obligatory make-up process of tanning and dirt; long days on set fighting, sitting, running, cheering, yelling; being covered in fake blood and sweat – all to be one of Spartacus’ rebel army.

Manager Carmen has been full-time on all four seasons of the series as a make-up, hair and spfx artist… and she has the t-shirt to prove it!   By all accounts this season (the final) will be epic and fans of the show will not be disappointed.

Yes we do it all at Photo Booth Fun, and the last couple of months in Hawkes Bay has seen some classics. From Toffee Apples & Candyfloss at the NCF Spring Carnival to some fun and shenanigans at Zak’s 30th. From an African themed anniversary party to a pranking bride’s mum.

We also had a blast at the Radio Network’s Hawkes Bay Special Children’s Christmas Party – I know Christmas is nearly here! If you’re planning a Christmas event get a Photo Booth in there and some extra Fun! Fun! FUN!

And I just had to put in some shots from Sunday’s “Love is Sweet” wedding at the beautiful Mission Estate Winery. What a great wedding – great people, great dresses, and some really great ink! Thanks for inviting us to be a part of your special day guys.

Wedding season is in full swing, and the Waikato must be popular, as this month the Waikato and Bay of Plenty PBF team had the honour of attending our Auckland and Tauranga wedding expo prize winner’s receptions.

Firstly a great night with Chris & Gemma, our Tauranga wedding expo winners, at their Blonde Restaurant reception in Whitianga.

And the next day we had a fun, boisterous (and did I mention FUN) bunch of Aucklanders and South Africans for Royden and Louise’s pre wedding reception drinks at the amazing Ag Heritage Village at Mystery Creek.

 

Remember that the Waikato and Bay of Plenty team are part of a national group of fun and zany photo booth professionals. Our booth will be shipped to Queenstown for a weekend of bookings later this month, and next month we’ll be on the road for an event in Hawera.  So no matter where you are in New Zealand, as long as there is power supply and trolley access, if you want to book a booth for your event we can be there!
