So the Doctor has recently regenerated, cool :) What if his TARDIS also regenerated… into a Photo Booth! Way COOLer!!

With a network of photo booths New Zealand wide, we travel everywhere.  We just need access and a power supply!  Like our Tauranga booth spending the weekend in Whakatane with Bay Rock Radio 1XX.

We’ve even mastered time travel*  That’s right, you can now book our photo booth eons into the future and we’ll be there ;)

Note: We don’t have a TARDIS shaped photobooth, but we can dress ours up like one! Please enquire when booking for availability & costs.

*While our current photo booths are one way time devices only, this TARDIS photo booth could be the inspiration for our next upgrade


School ball fun in Christchurch

It’s been a month of school ball fun here in Chch – So many revellers have been through our Christchurch photo booth lately and they’ve all come out laughing.

We had a ball (geddit?) at St Margarets, Timaru Girls’ High, Cathedral Grammar and Lincoln High and we’ve got the photos to prove it :D

Photo Booths, Art & Andy Warhol

Did you know that the incomparable Andy Warhol used photo booth photos to create his candy coloured pop art?  The iconic portraiture photography and silk screen print combination was so revolutionary, many in the art world dubbed it “art’s most radical change since cubism.”

We like to think that when our photo booth’s are at your event, we’re creating little works of art of you and your guests. The autonomous nature of the photo booth that fascinated Warhol is the exact concept that we know produces our amazing photos – people will never do for a photographer what they do for our booth!

It’s a beautiful thing that in the age of the digital photo, your guests can have  an instant, tactile photo strip; often ending up in wallets and on fridges for years.

When we finish at your event, you receive a custom Photobooth Fun USB with all your 4-photo strips as well as a high resolution copy of every “single” photo taken. This means, if there is a photo that you just love, love, love among your photo strips, you’ll be able to enlarge and print these in fantastic quality.

Being the Regional Manager for Hawkes Bay, co-ordinating and working at awesome events and celebrations in Napier, Hastings, Havelock North and the greater Hawkes Bay area (even in Taupo, Palmerston North, Gisborne and beyond) is so much fun! A great end to 2013

Happy New Year everyone – Yep, the year has flown by and we’ve had a ball (and attended a quite a few as well!). Congratulations to our first South Island happy couples for 2014, Lee and Natalie, and James and Julia. Both couples wed on the 4th Jan in scenic South Canterbury and we were quite happy to kick of 2014 in such beaut locations :)

The Christchurch team had a fabulous time with the photo booth over the Christmas period – We had balls, weddings, company Xmas dos,  festive carol evenings and we were even lucky enough to bring our special brand of fun along to the Child Cancer Foundation’s 2013 Christmas party – And who did we have trying out props and striking poses with the best of them but my favourite Crusader and All Black, Kieran Read – Of course, lots of people wanted photos with him!  Now  as we all know, having a turn or two in the booth is not exactly a hard task, but what a good sport (excuse the pun)! Although, this champ didn’t come close to beating some of our bride’s records for longest non-stop stint in the booth!

I’m looking forward to what 2014 has to offer – We’re full swing into wedding season now so bring it on!

How many people can you fit in the Photo Booth..?

This is a question we get asked quite a bit, usually by people wanting to fit like 5 or 6 people in. Usually we laugh at this as, being a Nationwide company, it is the source of a fair bit of competition around the country.

So how many do you think..? is it 8..? nah that’s easy… T131006-501what about 9..?IMG_0273or 10 maybe..?IMG_0484Actually given that all 3 of these shots were taken at the Gymsports National Championships this month in Hawkes Bay I’d say that’s getting pretty easy too.

The record up until this weekend was 13 set in the Hawkes Bay Booth last year (and I believe equalled in other regions since) I say up until this weekend because I believe this one taken in Hastings last night smashes it out of the park!T131019-501I’ll leave the counting to you but I have to say it’s a pretty impressive effort and once again set in the Hawkes Bay booth. I think this one’s going to take some breaking but let’s have some fun trying!

Gatsby Galore in Christchurch!

What ho!

Feeling like a cancelled stamp, a milquetoast? – Why that’s probably because you missed Gatsby’s Great Snow Ball this weekend – Held at the transitional Cathedral (I can’t believe it’s really a cardboard cathedral!), what a berries night! Organised by the Canterbury’s ski clubs, the 20s themed ball raised money for the Westpac Helicopter and the organisers did a Pos-i-lute-ly ducky job, raising $12,000 and giving everyone a night to remember to boot!

Helping to solidify those memories was our photo booth; We had a swell time – such hotsy totsy outfits, such fab poses, such glam!

So if you wanna stay hip to the jive, you’d better get yourself along to the next fab charity ball in Christchurch: The Great Pink Gatsby – This Fundraiser for Shocking Pink will transport you to the roaring 20s and put on a party to rival Gatsby’s finest! And our photobooth will be there to snap you in all your dudded up finery!

The lovely women at Shocking Pink really know their onions – So don’t be a bluenose, break out the mazuma, get dolled up, leave Mrs Grundy at home and ankle on down to this sockdollager – It will be the cat’s meow!

Canterbury Spring – Off to a good start!

Is anyone else out there glad it’s spring? The blossoms are out in force in Christchurch (so pretty!) and the Photo Booth Fun team are certainly happy to say bye to winter!

The start of  September saw us taking the photo booth on its first ever Gondola ride – We were at the Vero Marine Division’s 20th anniversary party up the top of The Christchurch Gondola and I’ve gotta say, that’s the best way I’ve ever travelled to an event! Such an incredible view and such a fun night. Another fabulous party organised by the talented team at Madant – They take having fun very seriously:

Now unless you’re in the know with the PBF team, you are probably unaware that our lovely booth attendant, Emily, is a very on the ball student and a part of the Future Leader Scholars at Lincoln University . This team created the the amazing Lend A Hand charity group:

As a result of the 2011 earthquake, the team of scholars established an annual event to give back to the community. Every year they come up with a novel means of raising money for a charity in need.

And this year, on the 27th September, we get to be a part of the action at the Lend a Hand Charity Evening. The event is aimed at raising awareness and funds for Youthline Canterbury and they have a fantastic night lined up (even on top of the photobooth!).  Tickets are selling quick so get on in and support a good cause!

An idyllic Christchurch wedding

I love seeing all the elements of a wedding come together on the big day – So much goes into planning all the details; it can be a stressful time but the pay off is so worth it. The wedding blog 100 Layer Cake recently featured a beautifully put together autumn wedding that we attended here in Christchurch. The photographer, Andrea Seymour, got a great snap of our photo booth looking cosily idyllic in the garden gazebo at the fabulous Trents Estate Vineyard – This was before the guests arrived of course as it was non-stop action in there once it was spotted!

“While we were out in the fields chasing the light and dancing in the sunset for our photos, our lovely guests were entertained by live acoustic music, served delicious canapés, and enjoyed some fun with our photobooth. We set up our guest book beside the photobooth so our guests could put one photo strip in the book and write us a little message.”    Samantha – Bride.

The photo booth is a perfect element to include in your celebrations – Either giving the guests something entertaining to do while you’re away getting photos or as an addition to the fun of the reception. Either way, we guarantee it’ll be one of the ingredients which go into making your wedding super enjoyable and memorable.
