Because people do the funniest things when they think no one's watching...

Where has 2012 gone I ask?

For us here in Auckland it’s been a year of celebrations as we moved house, quadrupled our office space, saw more booths enter our “fleet”(and more booth operators!) and welcomed our second son and future operator into the family – whoa – what a year!

December will be our busiest month to date with our operators working hard to provide the fun factor at many a corporate Christmas party, birthday and summer wedding.

We are excited about having our booth at Parakai Hot Pools for a Christmas Party (yes, our booths can operate outdoors!) and at The Cloud – the last time we were there we were celebrating Rugby World Cup victory!!

Last month saw some interesting characters pass through our booth.  Mr John Key was snapped for the second time in our booth and Bubba and his friends went barking mad at his birthday party.  Yes, Bubba is a dog and yes, the booth was at his birthday party!  Just goes to show we can cater for all types of people and all types of functions at all types of venues!

Merry Christmas to all our friends and fan’s – may 2013 be as amazing as 2012!

News from Christchurch

Wow, it’s been a fair while since I’ve piped up with news of Christchurch – Things have been getting pretty busy as not only is wedding season in full swing but Christmas is just around the corner (yikes – who’s done their shopping? – Not me!) and the photo booth is a superb hit for the company Xmas party. Especially fun when you add props to the mix!

And here’s a little known fact: There is a strong correlation between broken photocopiers and an absence of Photo Booth Fun at office Christmas parties.

We’ve also seen fundraisers, graduation parties, fantastic Halloween festivities and the Melbourne cup celebrated with style. We’ve been to some great venues around Chch and Canterbury and we even made it to Queenstown for the Accountants’ Big Day Out, thanks to the talented people at CCH Business Fitness – Anyone who reckons accountants don’t know how to have fun – We’ve got the pictures to prove otherwise (and the photobooth never lies!).

We’re looking forward to the Radio Network’s Special Children’s Christmas Party this weekend, a lot of fun for some well deserving kids. Not to mention a few more Christmas parties and weddings –  It should be a good one!

Cheers, Michaela

What some of our crew get up to when they’re not rocking a booth!

Two of our Waikato team member’s have just finished a busy season working on the television series Spartacus:War of the Damned.

Our operator Joe has spent a good part of 2012 starting at 4.00am; the obligatory make-up process of tanning and dirt; long days on set fighting, sitting, running, cheering, yelling; being covered in fake blood and sweat – all to be one of Spartacus’ rebel army.

Manager Carmen has been full-time on all four seasons of the series as a make-up, hair and spfx artist… and she has the t-shirt to prove it!   By all accounts this season (the final) will be epic and fans of the show will not be disappointed.

Carnivals, 30th’s, Weddings & Christmas Parties…

Yes we do it all at Photo Booth Fun, and the last couple of months in Hawkes Bay has seen some classics. From Toffee Apples & Candyfloss at the NCF Spring Carnival to some fun and shenanigans at Zak’s 30th. From an African themed anniversary party to a pranking bride’s mum.

We also had a blast at the Radio Network’s Hawkes Bay Special Children’s Christmas Party – I know Christmas is nearly here! If you’re planning a Christmas event get a Photo Booth in there and some extra Fun! Fun! FUN!

And I just had to put in some shots from Sunday’s “Love is Sweet” wedding at the beautiful Mission Estate Winery. What a great wedding – great people, great dresses, and some really great ink! Thanks for inviting us to be a part of your special day guys.

So whatever your special day is, it’s always more Fun with a Photo Booth from the team at PBF so give us a call and set it up… you know you want to…

We deliver – New Zealand wide!

Wedding season is in full swing, and the Waikato must be popular, as this month the Waikato and Bay of Plenty PBF team had the honour of attending our Auckland and Tauranga wedding expo prize winner’s receptions.

Firstly a great night with Chris & Gemma, our Tauranga wedding expo winners, at their Blonde Restaurant reception in Whitianga.

And the next day we had a fun, boisterous (and did I mention FUN) bunch of Aucklanders and South Africans for Royden and Louise’s pre wedding reception drinks at the amazing Ag Heritage Village at Mystery Creek.

Remember that the Waikato and Bay of Plenty team are part of a national group of fun and zany photo booth professionals. Our booth will be shipped to Queenstown for a weekend of bookings later this month, and next month we’ll be on the road for an event in Hawera.  So no matter where you are in New Zealand, as long as there is power supply and trolley access, if you want to book a booth for your event we can be there!

What an exciting few weeks it has been in Auckland!

Word has spread in the corporate sector that a booth from Photo Booth Fun is a great addition to any function so we’ve been busy helping out some awesome companies!  We joined Lion Nathan at their awards night, Zambesi when they launched their new range of eyewear, Typo when they opened their new store in Queen Street and the NZ Recreation Association who organise the annual Just Add Water event.  We also joined the Bunnings Warehouse team as they celebrated the Glenfield stores’ first birthday and we had a wicked time with the teens at the Auckland Library on Saturday for their Fuse Party!

Dilworth School for Boys and Hebron Christian College enjoyed a photo booth at their school ball and we attended functions at two of Auckland’s coolest venues – The Floating Pavilion played host to Catherine & San’s wedding and Alice had an awesome 30th party at the Old Elephant House at Auckland Zoo!!

If you are thinking about hiring us for your upcoming wedding then come and visit our stand at The Grand Wedding Show, Level 4 + 5, Sky City Convention Centre from 9am to 4pm on Sunday 16 September.  As always we’ll be taking heaps of photos and giving away an awesome prize!

Now is also the time to be thinking about booking your Christmas Party booth to avoid disappointment as December is filling up fast!  Email your Christmas Party details to Suze at info@photoboothfun.co.nz, we’d love to join you in celebrating!!

Once again we were invited to join the London Hard House Reunion at Studio on K Road – these guys know how to party!!

FUNdraising in the Waikato and BOP

The Waikato and The Bay Of Plenty have been full on with more expo’s and training up new staff for a super busy wedding season…

Firstly our new kid on the block Mustafa helped the Bay of Plenty Polytech create a huge buzz at the Bay of Plenty Careers Expo (TECT Arena, Baypark) and then our other newbie, Joe in Hamilton, showed the kids how it’s done with Waikato Institute of Technology Open Day at the Atrium, Wintec.  Throw in some mid-winter weddings and corporate events and wowwee!

Sunday saw the Photo Booth Fun team supporting the Bride’s Tea Party at Sarnia Park Botique Lodge – a fantastic afternoon showing off our booth to more Waikato brides while fundraising for Endometriosis New Zealand. Really stoked that our $590 donated photo booth hire raised $220 in the silent auction. And if you’re in Auckland and think you’ve missed out, make sure you and your girlfriends reserve the night of Wednesday, 3rd October, for an Evening of Glitz & Glamour and another fantastic fundraiser at Orakei Bay.

Great laughs in Christchurch

Wow, I’ve gotta agree with the Wellington team when they say that time’s flown recently – Where does it go in such a hurry?!

We’ve been up to all sorts this past while; I’m so glad that winter isn’t deterring people from getting out and having fun! For instance, have a look at what The Press’s ever entertaining columnist Beck Eleven has to say about her photo booth experience – It’s always great to see the hilarity that comes from a night with one of our booths. And the great thing about our included USB is that it doesn’t end on the night, as she explains so well!

Last month saw us at the Mid Canterbury Wedding Expo in Ashburton. The organisers did such a good job getting everything in order so we had a superb day meeting people from the area and getting lots of people inside the photobooth to get snapped.

We may not have the olympics here (how proud are we of team NZ’s achievements in London btw?) but last weekend we did have the NZCAF Aerobics Regionals and we have the booth pics to prove it.  So much talent around that day!

Well school ball season is still in full swing, there have been so many laughs and great memories so far and we have a few more before the month is out  – But don’t despair if you haven’t booked one for your ball – There’s still time! (Though I still don’t know where it goes..).

Til next time :)

Busy Busy Wellington

Phwor, I can’t believe how long it’s been since we had an update from the Wellington team. I know we’ve been busy but the time has just flown by! Here’s a few highlights of the past few months:

Life Flight Open Day

We work with quite a few charity organisations (Child Cancer, Lifeline, Ronald McDonald House and Sustainable Coastlines to name a few) and the open day at the Wellington Life Flight hangar was just great fun. They raised a heap of money for their new plane, which was decorated by the talented team at Weta Workshop!

How cool does that backdrop look? We can organise these for your event as well.

Red Bull Sounds Like Sunday

Red Bull know how to party and they also know how to thank the people that sell their product to the masses, the guys and girls on the front line in the bars and clubs.

Sounds like Sunday is a work free night off for all the hospo workers in Wellington and we were there to help with the fun.

As always, the booth went off and the provided props were certainly a hit. Red and blue were the colours of the night and our intrepid attendant John was a bit BLACK and blue by the end. Too much fun.

Show Me Wellington – Corporate Events Expo

Corporate events are a huge amount of our business, we just love meeting new organisations to work with and the Show Me Wellington expo was a great place to do it.

Events co-ordinators and social club members were in and out of our Blue Booth all day, throwing on some props and making the most of it. We shmoozed and networked up a storm, even taking a couple of bookings on the spot!

The expo attracted people from all over the country which was great for us as we’re NATIONWIDE!

Custom Photo Strip Designs

Now one of our most requested options is the custom strip design and we really love doing them, it lets us stretch our creative legs a little. Here’s some recent examples we’ve done:

Let us know when you book if you’d like a custom strip design.

Cheers!
