Being the Regional Manager for Hawkes Bay, co-ordinating and working at awesome events and celebrations in Napier, Hastings, Havelock North and the greater Hawkes Bay area (even in Taupo, Palmerston North, Gisborne and beyond) is so much fun! How many people can you fit in the Photo Booth..?

This is a question we get asked quite a bit, usually by people wanting to fit like 5 or 6 people in. Usually we laugh at this as, being a Nationwide company, it is the source of a fair bit of competition around the country.

So how many do you think..? is it 8..? nah that’s easy… T131006-501what about 9..?IMG_0273or 10 maybe..?IMG_0484Actually given that all 3 of these shots were taken at the Gymsports National Championships this month in Hawkes Bay I’d say that’s getting pretty easy too.

The record up until this weekend was 13 set in the Hawkes Bay Booth last year (and I believe equalled in other regions since) I say up until this weekend because I believe this one taken in Hastings last night smashes it out of the park!T131019-501I’ll leave the counting to you but I have to say it’s a pretty impressive effort and once again set in the Hawkes Bay booth. Yes the sun is shining here in sunny Hawkes Bay which means two things… BBQ’s and the start of what we like to call “the wedding season” and of course along with that comes the perfect opportunity for some Photo Booth Fun.

There are so many reasons to have a party aren’t there? And as the saying goes, any excuse is better than none. And we’ve had some pretty good excuses for parties in Hawkes Bay lately!

There’s been the 21st party, the 3oth party, (and a few other important “…th” party’s for that matter); the Napier party, the Hastings party and most definitely the Havelock North party; the wedding party, the engagement party, the hen’s party, the ball party, the after party, the conference party, the corporate sponsored party, we’re even doing a big game party. In fact all over Hawkes Bay We’ve been having a whole lot of fun! Photo Booth Fun that is!

Well we’re well and truly into School Ball Season here in the Sunny (even if it’s getting a little colder) Hawkes Bay! I mean where would be the FUN in that right..?!?!?!?! And Hawkes Bay, in fact New Zealand, knows how to have FUN!!!

Here’s just a few FUN shots from inside the Booth – “because people do the funniest things when they think no one’s watching…”

I love it when people go in to the booth for the first time, not really knowing what to expect, then the first photo shows on the screen and the giggles start (or manly guffaws of course) and they come out beaming saying “that is SO awesome” and then you can’t get them out of the booth for the rest of the night!

I love it that adults seem to enjoy dressing up more now than when they were kids. I mean where else could you put on a bright purple wig, pointy ears and a pair of huge glasses and it’s not only regarded as normal but you’re encouraged to put on a silly hat or a fake beard to make the outfit complete?!

We love getting our photo booths into all sorts of different places around Napier, Hastings, Havelock North, actually the whole greater Hawkes Bay area, whether it’s a winery or function centre or just someone’s back yard, because we know how much people love having Photo Booth FUN.

Even the event staff can’t resist it… I hope we’re not interfering with your work there people..? Oh no, it’s ok, there’s the boss in there too…

So here’s the thing… DON’T EVER STOP HAVING FUN..! Life’s just too short and there are way too many of serious things going on to drag you down if you let them. But whether it’s a wedding, a party, a corporate function or conference, or just a good old fashioned get together, you can get some real FUN back in your life if you call the FUN people at Photo Booth FUN… the company dedicated to raising the spirits of the whole country, one silly photo at a time! Yes we do it all at Photo Booth Fun, and the last couple of months in Hawkes Bay has seen some classics. From Toffee Apples & Candyfloss at the NCF Spring Carnival to some fun and shenanigans at Zak’s 30th. From an African themed anniversary party to a pranking bride’s mum.

We also had a blast at the Radio Network’s Hawkes Bay Special Children’s Christmas Party – I know Christmas is nearly here! If you’re planning a Christmas event get a Photo Booth in there and some extra Fun! Fun! FUN!

And I just had to put in some shots from Sunday’s “Love is Sweet” wedding at the beautiful Mission Estate Winery. What a great wedding – great people, great dresses, and some really great ink! Thanks for inviting us to be a part of your special day guys.

Got your booth booked… now get prop-ping!

If you’ve booked your Photo Booth Fun time and you’re getting all set for the big event, why not add some extra Photo Booth Fun by adding some props to use in the booth? You can add a props box to your booking and we’ll bring it along with us or you can make yourself the ultimate props box by following these fun ideas.


Here are some suggestions…

  • Big geeky glasses
  • Large antique picture frame (so guests can frame themselves)
  • Multi coloured beads or Hawaiian Leis
  • Hats, wigs and pretty much any gear you can think of – the brighter the better!
  • How about a fake moustache on a stick?!
  • A chalk board for messages – you can even get them shaped like a speech bubble!
  • Inflatable guitar and microphone – for that matter just about anything inflatable so long as it doesn’t take up the whole booth!
  • Viking helmet and battle axe
  • Mickey Mouse ears and animal noses and ears
  • Pirate gear – eye patches arrrr…

There’s just about no end to the fun you can have with some props in a photobooth! Just let your imagination (and maybe the wine) flow and lets see what develops…
