How many people can you fit in the Photo Booth..?

This is a question we get asked quite a bit, usually by people wanting to fit like 5 or 6 people in. Usually we laugh at this as, being a Nationwide company, it is the source of a fair bit of competition around the country.

So how many do you think..? is it 8..? nah that’s easy… T131006-501what about 9..?IMG_0273or 10 maybe..?IMG_0484Actually given that all 3 of these shots were taken at the Gymsports National Championships this month in Hawkes Bay I’d say that’s getting pretty easy too.

The record up until this weekend was 13 set in the Hawkes Bay Booth last year (and I believe equalled in other regions since) I say up until this weekend because I believe this one taken in Hastings last night smashes it out of the park!T131019-501I’ll leave the counting to you but I have to say it’s a pretty impressive effort and once again set in the Hawkes Bay booth. Gatsby Galore in Christchurch!

 

What ho!

Feeling like a cancelled stamp, a milquetoast? – Why that’s probably because you missed Gatsby’s Great Snow Ball this weekend – Held at the transitional Cathedral (I can’t believe it’s really a cardboard cathedral!), what a berries night! Organised by the Canterbury’s ski clubs, the 20s themed ball raised money for the Westpac Helicopter and the organisers did a Pos-i-lute-ly ducky job, raising $12,000 and giving everyone a night to remember to boot!

Helping to solidify those memories was our photo booth; We had a swell time – such hotsy totsy outfits, such fab poses, such glam!

Pos-i-tively darb darling!

 

So if you wanna stay hip to the jive, you’d better get yourself along to the next fab charity ball in Christchurch: The Great Pink Gatsby – This Fundraiser for Shocking Pink will transport you to the roaring 20s and put on a party to rival Gatsby’s finest! And our photobooth will be there to snap you in all your dudded up finery!

The lovely women at Shocking Pink really know their onions – So don’t be a bluenose, break out the mazuma, get dolled up, leave Mrs Grundy at home and ankle on down to this sockdollager – It will be the cat’s meow!

Thinking ahead to the festive season

Summer is nearly upon us (hooray!!) and with that comes the countdown to Christmas.  If you don’t want to know exactly how many days there are to go, look away now …..  if you do want to know, there is only 70!!.  Don’t know about you, but we are pretty excited about the arrival of the festive season!

Aside from eating, drinking and being merry with family, the festive season also brings the much anticipated work Christmas parties!  Have you got yours coming up ?  Or are you the person in charge of organising one this year?  A photo booth is a “must have” at every Christmas function – we’ve done some great ones in the past and we want to be at yours!!

Once Upon a Time…

The story of Photobooth Fun starts, like many a great story, with love. In our story, a boy loved a girl and he built her photo booth for her birthday party. The photo booth was loved by everyone at the party and many thought that others should enjoy the booth too.
Before long, friends put in requests for their own booths and the boy worked studiously to deliver. Before you could say “cheese”, Photobooth Fun the company was born.

Nowadays, Photobooth Fun is a mix of people who were all friends (in some way or another), before becoming a part of the business. While nepotism is frowned on by many in a workplace, we think it’s a great part of our unique vibe. We’re all genuinely passionate about the company because most of us “asked” to be a part of it

Our photo booths are all around the country and have attended hundreds of amazing events, met thousands of great people and have taken hundreds of thousands of awesome photos. We look forward to continuing our journey and seeing you at your next event.

So thanks to our founder Brett for being the best boyfriend in the world!

One of the great things about birthdays, weddings or other family events is that it brings together family. Often we don’t get to see the rest of the family during the course of the year and so the addition of the wider whanau makes these events special. And its nice to remember them.

That’s one of the cool things about the Photobooth its a great way t capture generations of the same family together in one place. And not in one of those stagey, awkward family photos. Having fun. Together.

Adding an album or an online gallery makes it even easier to preserve and share those memories.

And maybe even use that embarrassing photo of Dad for better leverage when you need that next family loan!

Yep, the above title says it all …. we JUST love people!  We love our staff,  we love our partners and, of course, we love you (the people that step inside our booths and make them come alive!!).

We have a wonderful team of operators up here in Auckland – Sai, Alex, Adam, Sarah, Vivian & Carla. These are the superstars that operate our booths and are experts at getting any party started!  They are an awesome, hardworking bunch, and like the other regions around the country, we simply couldn’t operate without them!

We also love our partners – and we work with some great individuals & companies.

If you are planning a wedding and on the hunt for a celebrant, you should definitely check out Erin Marmont – she is AMAZING!

Canterbury Spring – Off to a good start!

 

Is anyone else out there glad it’s spring? The blossoms are out in force in Christchurch (so pretty!) and the Photo Booth Fun team are certainly happy to say bye to winter!

The start of  September saw us taking the photo booth on its first ever Gondola ride – We were at the Vero Marine Division’s 20th anniversary party up the top of The Christchurch Gondola and I’ve gotta say, that’s the best way I’ve ever travelled to an event! Such an incredible view and such a fun night. Another fabulous party organised by the talented team at Madant – They take having fun very seriously:

Now unless you’re in the know with the PBF team, you are probably unaware that our lovely booth attendant, Emily, is a very on the ball student and a part of the Future Leader Scholars at Lincoln University . This team created the the amazing Lend A Hand charity group:

As a result of the 2011 earthquake, the team of scholars established an annual event to give back to the community. Every year they come up with a novel means of raising money for a charity in need.

And this year, on the 27th September, we get to be a part of the action at the Lend a Hand Charity Evening. The event is aimed at raising awareness and funds for Youthline Canterbury and they have a fantastic night lined up (even on top of the photobooth!).  Tickets are selling quick so get on in and support a good cause!
